Bart Kemper gave a professional development presentation, “Throwing the Flag: General Guidelines for Assessing Engineering Simulation,” at the Winter 2022 meeting of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers. The meeting was held in Tuscon, AZ. The talk is part of Bart’s overall work in advancing the incorporation of Verification, Validation, and Uncertainty Quantification (VVUQ) as an important step in applying engineering simulations in forensic engineering, complementing its current use in traditional engineering work.
As Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers, he also led a panel discussion with the Journal’s Associate Editors regarding the challenges many writers have in publishing in peer-reviewed journals, be it the JotNAFE or others. Dr. Bob Peruzzi, DFE; Steve Pietropaolo, DFE; Jim Green, DFE; Dr. Dave Icove, DFE, and Bart shared their perspectives as authors as well as editors.
