Alexis San Miguel and Bart Kemper, CFEI responded to a request for assistance after a fire in a lumber yard in Forest, Mississippi, joining a team of professionals from several companies. Timely gathering of data is critical for determining the cause and origin of fires, particularly if it may be involved with machinery. This is key in ensuring the interests of the company and the safety of the workers are addressed. KES used one of their drones to gather images the rest of the team could not obtain, particularly of the roof and superstructure that was compromised by the fire. Once the combined team completed capturing the key data and submitted their findings, the lumber company was able to go into recovery mode and complete the clean-up and repairs needed to put the lumber yard back into full operation.
