Kemper Engineering worked with Sidewinder Pumps, a pump manufacturer based in Lafayette, La., to develop an injection pump optimized for solar power (minimum power per stroke). We developed key geometries, established what was and wasn’t a power concern with respect to flow and mechanism action, and developed full 3-D models for kinematic, stress, and flow analysis. Once we established these parameters, Sidewinder took it from there to complete the design for their in-house manufacturing capabilities. This solar pump is now available for sale.
